| The " Cabbie" wallet was inspired by a vintage 1950's horse hide Cab drivers coin wallet I found several years ago at a pawn shop in Statesville, North Carolina. The original was smaller and had a snap button closure and one inside divider
It instantly became my favorite wallet but had several limitations; as its intended purpose was to carry change only it the vintage "Cabbie" could hold only just a couple of extra cards and ID in addition...
My work was cut out for me; I increased the size to 5-5/16" wide x 4.25" tall x 1" deep, and added 2 interior dividers to allow extra room for a small digital camera or smart phone. My take on the "Cabbie" is a modernized version of a classic, perfectly adapted to todays city needs and requirements. It is a uni-sex wallet, perfect for him or her!
I then added a belt which wraps entirely around the wallet and closes via a watch strap buckle of your choice. The pictured version features a 16 mm wide Rolex steel buckle from my personal collection, and can be replaced by another 16 mm wide buckle if you prefer.
Please note that the wallet will be delivered with a generic buckle only, the buckle in these pictures is for display purposes only! Upon request I can custom size a strap down or up to accommodate smaller or larger (such as Pam) buckles.
The strap is completely removable and can also be worn as a cuff or a watch strap. It is being kept centered via the (2) attached perforated racing style loops, and a belt loop on the backside of the wallet.
The top of the wallet features a horizontal loop, which allows the insertion of a small pen, such as a space pen.
The entire "Cabbie" City wallet is crafted from 100% genuine Horween Grade 1 Shell Cordovan and can be ordered in black, oxblood, or whiskey. It is truly the wallet and companion for a lifetime.
